Here is the third of my occasional interviews with remarkable people I have known. Meinrad Craighead was my godmother. I did this interview with her not long after she left Stanbrook Abbey, where she had been a nun, in 1981. Soon after she turned to America and lived out the rest of her life in a house on the edge close to the Rio Grande, along with her two marvellous dogs. Meinrad was a most wonderful person and a very dear friend and companion on the road. I miss her greatly for her kindness and the many great conversations we had about art and life - which were really the same thing to her. Its almost impossible to select enough images to illustrate Meinrad’s work, but I strongly urge you to seek out the books and retrospective account of her life. I will add some titles at the end of this interview.
